This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys building systems that support people, and is passionate about advancing mission-driven work. Caldera’s Director of Operations will have two direct reports with the Senior Property Manager and HR Manager reporting into them. Caldera’s Director of Operations works to ensure efficient operation and use of Caldera’s facilities and surrounding land and lakefront and will work with the Senior Property Manager and team to plan, direct, and implement maintenance and repair of the property (all fixed and natural assets and equipment). They will also be in charge of overseeing all People and Culture related matters and partner with the HR Manager on all things related to onboarding, talent development, benefits, and performance reviews. This position works collaboratively with year-round and seasonal staff, long standing stakeholders, volunteers, and contractors. The person in this position will serve as one of the emergency contacts for scheduled on-call hours, during which they will be required to be within a one hour radius of Caldera. This position is crucial to the fulfillment of Caldera’s onsite programs. The person in this position will occasionally need to travel to Portland for board and staff meetings and other outreach activities as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the Director of Operations will regularly be required to work at a computer, make phone calls, lift up to 50 pounds, engage in physical review of buildings and building systems, walk on uneven surfaces, use maintenance equipment and travel to Portland.
