About The Position

Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Global Operations, the Director of Operations, North America will be responsible for leading multisite operations in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This individual will lead with a strong executive mindset as well as be a key member of the global operations Leadership Team. He or she will provide leadership and direction for all plant operations to achieve continuously improving results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, reliability, and team member engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited University
  • 10+ years manufacturing operations experience; including plant management with experience from a best-in-class manufacturer
  • 5+ years leadership experience positions within Continuous Improvement and/or Operations
  • Multi-Site management experience required
  • Proven successful applications of multiple CI tools: 80/20, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Flow, Standard Work, Visual Management, & Problem Solving
  • Strong operational and financial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to lead multiple locations
  • Critical thinking skills to properly identify problem areas & potential solutions
  • Must be able to travel regularly to the German sites located in Friedberg, Lauterbach and Neuwied

Responsibilities

  • Lead multisite operations in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
  • Provide leadership and direction for all plant operations to achieve continuously improving results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, reliability, and team member engagement.
  • Creating and communicating a clear vision for the future to inspire and drive the plants to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Develop strategies for growth, set stretching but achievable targets and monitor performance to target for each functional area.
  • Set goals, monitor progress, and ensure accountability for direct reports.
  • Accountable for allocating and planning resources to ensure key strategic metrics are met: safety, quality, delivery, productivity, budget/profitability, employee coaching, development, and engagement, communication, and team member retention.
  • Develop and implement appropriate operational, continuous improvement and people strategies aligning with the platform goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the plant with visual management, problem solving, new product development launches, capital projects, control plans, quality plan, and continuous improvement plan.
  • Develop direct reports and others by creating an environment that both develops and affords opportunities to employees, inspires collaboration, and engages the team to contribute in meaningful ways.
  • Build effective teams and create strong morale and recognize wins and successes, fosters open dialogue; empowers others to be decision-makers; defines success in terms of the whole team; and influences with authority when needed.
  • Work with site leadership to develop and deploy SQDC(P) and tying to CI events when appropriate.
  • Inspire right sizing of inventory while working across locations and products to control operational spend.
  • Focused on development of key talent while leading through change management and communication.
  • Develop and Deploy Capacity improvements while leveraging dual location assembly/manufacturing for products.
  • Serve as the local support for key inputs to financial success and communicate effectively across BWCS Platform (Absorption, Spend, Utilization, CAPEX and other key metrics supporting Strategic Deployment).
  • Expertly facilitate development projects and cross-training focused on team member growth while sharing within BWCS key talent for succession within or outside the platform utilizing continuous improvement and root cause problem-solving.
