About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Hospice Administrator / Director of Operations to lead day‑to-day hospice operations, ensure regulatory excellence, and support teams dedicated to providing comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients and families. This is an opportunity for a proven hospice leader who understands the hospice philosophy and excels in operations, compliance, staff leadership, and census performance. The Hospice Administrator / Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operational, clinical, and financial management of hospice services. This role ensures compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies while driving quality outcomes, team engagement, and sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, human services, administration, or related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of hospice management or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, Medicare compliance, and survey processes
  • Current professional license, as applicable
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance

  • Previous experience as a Hospice Administrator, Executive Director, or Director of Operations
  • Demonstrated success in staff leadership, financial oversight, and census growth

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for hospice operations and daily agency functions
  • Ensure full compliance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and accrediting standards
  • Oversee Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI), utilization review, and survey readiness
  • Lead and support the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) and promote collaboration across all hospice disciplines
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain qualified clinical and administrative staff
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and census goals
  • Ensure high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered hospice care delivery
  • Serve as liaison with the Governing Body, community partners, and regulatory agencies
  • Promote a positive, mission‑driven culture aligned with hospice values
