About The Position

Bridges Hospice is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for hospice services across the Dallas–Fort Worth market. The Director of Nursing is responsible for regulatory compliance, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), clinical team leadership, and excellence in patient care delivery. This role requires strong expertise in hospice regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and hospice EHR systems such as Kinnser/WellSky. We are seeking a mission-driven leader who combines regulatory discipline with compassionate end-of-life care leadership.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 5+ years progressive nursing leadership experience in hospice or related clinical field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hospice regulatory compliance and Medicare CoPs.
  • Strong experience with hospice EHR systems (Kinnser/WellSky preferred).
  • Proven QAPI leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
  • Hospice certification or leadership certification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all hospice nursing operations and ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Supervise and support clinical documentation practices to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Serve as the clinical authority on hospice policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead QAPI initiatives to monitor clinical outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and Texas hospice regulations.
  • Prepare and present clinical performance data and quality metrics to executive leadership.
  • Support survey readiness and regulatory audits.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Provide leadership in professional development and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
  • Partner with physicians, social workers, aides, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Oversee care planning and ensure effective patient and family communication.
  • Support community outreach and referral relationships as needed.
