About The Position

The Director of Basketball Operations/Assistant Coach assists with the organization and supervision of all logistical aspects of the Women’s Basketball Team within the parameters designated by the university, the America East Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years in basketball operations or equivalent experience in office management/administration
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Proven ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to student-athlete welfare
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
• Proficiency with Synergy and Keymotion video software
• Commitment to ensure compliance with all NCAA and University rules and regulations
• Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee Women’s Basketball team travel
• Oversee Women’s Basketball Scheduling
• Oversee Women’s Basketball Equipment Budget
• Manage On-Campus Recruiting
• Oversight of Team Managers
• Assist with logistical aspects within the function of the women’s basketball program
• Recruiting/On Floor Coaching Conduct individual and group training sessions to enhance player’s skills, technique, and performance Identify and evaluate potential recruits through scouting, and reviewing game film Organizing, recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes Build relationships with high school coaches, athletes, and their families
• Promote the University’s commitment to customer service by: Build effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed. Ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information. Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
