About The Position

The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center, more commonly known as the ‘HOPE Center,’ is a newly constructed, state of the art, 16-bed, Psychiatric Health Facility, serving the acute psychiatric needs of the community in concert with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services. Website: https://sacramentohopecenter.com/ The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing which includes directing all services provided by the Nursing Services Department. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for directing and monitoring the facility-wide quality management assessment and quality performance improvement program, ensuring the facility programs follow all regulatory agencies, JOINT COMMISSION, NAPPH and State and Federal agencies. In addition, the Director of Nursing will be responsible for coordination of all staffing requirements within the nursing department, including scheduling staff, monitoring changes, updating, and reporting bi-weekly time reporting to payroll. As a member of senior management this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the facility’s goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with facility management in designing and providing total patient care and services. Adjusting staffing daily according to the census and acuity, ensuring nursing administrative personnel policies and procedures are followed, overseeing time off requests for nursing personnel, monitoring benefit time and reports and/or abuses. Ensure the program meets JOINT COMMISION, Medicare and state and federal regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and revise corporate, facility and Nursing Servies policies and procedures within the guidelines of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the facility by taking into consideration the recommendations from the CEO, Medical Director, Director of Clinical Services, and nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA regulations and all state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Current BLS or CPR certification
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in nursing administration and/or dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • four (4) years experience in nursing administration and/or dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
