About The Position
Director of Nursing (DON) Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Beacon Beacon, NY Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 annually Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Beacon is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and elevate the quality of care across our facility. This is an opportunity for a strong nursing leader who is ready to build, stabilize, and lead with purpose—someone who understands both the clinical and operational side of skilled nursing and can bring teams together to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility
- Strong knowledge of NYS DOH regulations and survey process
- Proven leadership ability with a focus on team development and retention
- Ability to balance clinical excellence with operational performance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Drive clinical quality, survey readiness, and performance improvement initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff and leadership team
- Partner with Administration and interdisciplinary teams to support resident outcomes and operational goals
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure coverage and efficiency
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and resident-centered care
