About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and support the Behavioral Health department at a healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY. This leadership role is responsible for driving quality improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care within a behavioral health environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence in behavioral health nursing services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 7 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Primary Source Verification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrated experience working in a Behavioral Health setting.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement initiatives to improve patient care outcomes and nursing staff performance.
• Monitor, analyze, and evaluate patient care performance metrics in collaboration with nursing leadership.
• Conduct unit assessments and implement corrective action plans to address identified gaps.
• Develop, maintain, and oversee documentation and tracking systems related to medication errors and staff counseling.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing guidance to nursing staff within the Behavioral Health department.
