Role: Responsible for the daily oversight of mortgage operations, developing procedures, and the development of systems to expedite the delivery of mortgage loans through processing, underwriting and closing, to the sale of mortgage loans to secondary markets. Recommend procedures and policies to management, as needed, to ensure member service objectives are being achieved and to ensure the credit union’s smooth and orderly operation. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Oversee the daily administration and operations of the Mortgage Lending department, supervising and guiding mortgage operations personnel regarding lending goals, policies and procedures within the scope of operations. Ensure that proper procedures are in place to meet the strategic goals of the credit union, and that policies, objectives, and regulatory requirements are implemented. Maintain adequate knowledge of both internal and external policies, guidelines and compliance regulations to successfully complete all other aspects of assigned job duties. Conduct and/or implementation of training of new employees as well as continued education opportunities for current staff. Screen, interview and hire new employees as needed. Develop and maintain department resources (i.e. checklists, walk throughs, help guides) within the knowledge base system. Complete other required job duties as assigned. Performance Measurements: 1. Ensure the department is providing professional, timely, personal service to all members and associates by responding to all messages and correspondence within 24 hours. 2. Develop and maintain a highly qualified staff possessing and maintaining knowledge of all essential job duties as well as overall knowledge of the requirements and demands of the mortgage industry as a whole 3. Ensure all mortgage lending activity is in compliance with established policies. procedures, rules and regulations. 4. Ensure the department meets or exceeds the established goals and that direct reports achieve their individual goals. 5. Keep management informed regarding key operational issues affecting the department. 6. Note observations of employee performance. Give and receive feedback from employee, ongoing.
