About The Position

As Director of Merchandising, you will lead the global merchandising strategy for Dearfoams across markets. This role is central to driving commercial success, ensuring consumer relevance, and delivering a compelling customer experience across all franchise formats. You will be responsible for aligning global brand direction with market needs, leading cross-functional collaboration, and building a high-performing merchandising team that embodies a performance-driven, growth-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of experience in Merchandising or related field.
  • Footwear experience required, including understanding of footwear construction and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated achievement of sales, margin, and inventory productivity targets across franchise or multi-market environments.
  • Proven ability to execute market calendars and milestone deliverables on time.
  • Strong track record of franchise partner satisfaction and seasonal assortment adoption.
  • Proven success leading, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Suite and Artificial Intelligence tools.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel as necessary (expected travel 10–15%).

Responsibilities

  • Supports Chief Merchandising Officer on strategic and long-range brand planning initiatives.
  • Executes brand initiatives set by Chief Merchandising Officer with the team on existing and new category growth that aligns with the company vision and growth strategy.
  • Strategic planning, product creation and management through line planning, briefing, product lifecycle and collaboration.
  • Leads, supports and executes seasonal brand & category objectives through strategic and long- range planning.
  • Procures, analyzes, understands, and drives consumer, competitor, and data-driving insights to execute brand strategies.
  • Manages the PLM system and samples with the support of the merchandising team.
  • Leads, develops, and manages the Merchandising Team members.
  • Identifies compelling go to market strategies with our marketing team to create wholistic consumer product stories and launch plans across all touch points during the buying experience.
  • Ensures all cross functional teams’ alignment on key initiatives and timelines to maximize each season, every product launch.
  • Leads and oversees that product and brand messaging is executed on all digital platforms.
