This position is responsible for marketing, promoting, and selling Palm Beach County as a premier destination for conventions and meetings within the group market. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced Director with a strong background in hotel and convention group sales, coupled with proven leadership and team development capabilities. Success in this role requires a demonstrated ability to drive group business by strategically leveraging Palm Beach County’s hotels and the Palm Beach County Convention Center to achieve assigned annual definite room night goals in alignment with Discover The Palm Beaches’ overall sales and marketing strategies. The role demands strong leadership qualities as both a coach and mentor, along with a disciplined, systems-driven approach to sales execution, strategic planning, and performance accountability. The candidate must effectively manage and meet the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This position may be based remotely, provided the candidate resides in California, Arizona, or Colorado, and will focus on generating group business of 25 rooms or more across a defined Western territory, including CA, OR, WA, ID, NV, AZ, UT, MT, WY, CO, NM, ND, SD, AK, and HI, as well as select vertical markets with incentive houses such as Maritz, BI Worldwide, ITA Group, Creative Group, and similar partners.
