About The Position

The Director of Med/Surg, ICU, and Dialysis is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and operational management of the Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care, and Dialysis departments. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals. The Director collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote clinical excellence, improve patient outcomes, and support a culture of safety and accountability. Responsibilities include oversight of daily operations, staffing, budgeting, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning across all assigned departments. This position plays a key role in developing and mentoring nursing leadership, fostering staff engagement, and ensuring appropriate resource allocation to meet patient care needs. The Director will also work closely with senior leadership to align departmental objectives with the organization's mission and long-term goals. The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with experience in acute care settings, including critical care and dialysis services, and demonstrates excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current Illinois Nursing License
  • Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training course (CPI) required within 1 month of hire date as well as ongoing competency in restraint, seclusion and take downs.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross ACLS)
  • Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience
  • Previous leadership experience as Director or manager.
