The function of the Materials Management Department is to provide a centralized system for the procurement and control of supplies, equipment and materials utilized within the hospital. The Director of Materials Management provides leadership and direction for the department and its employees, and decision-making support to the hospital’s management team to ensure cost-effective, quality-oriented purchasing, distribution and inventory control decision making. The Director of Materials Management provides for the day-to-day management of departmental operations, planning, staffing and scheduling, policy/procedure development, budget development and management, staff education and training, systems develpoment, including automation, and implementation.
