Position Summary Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is seeking a visionary and collaborative Director of Marketing to lead the strategic storytelling, brand development, and revenue-driving marketing efforts for one of the most iconic destination resorts on Florida’s Emerald Coast. Spanning beach to bay, Sandestin is a vibrant resort community offering accommodations, vacation rentals, dining, golf, recreation, events, and residential living, all supported by a dynamic and evolving marketing platform. This role is responsible for shaping and executing integrated marketing strategies that elevate the Sandestin brand, drive measurable business growth, and deepen guest engagement across every business unit of the resort. The Director of Marketing will oversee a passionate in-house team responsible for social media, graphic design, content development, and integrated campaigns; while guiding key external partners including a public relations agency, a strategic marketing agency focused on revenue-driving initiatives, and a digital agency responsible for SEO, paid media, and website performance. The Sandestin marketing team is a group of talented marketers who care deeply about the brand and serve as ambassadors for the resort’s story. The ideal leader for this team brings both heart and vision: someone who inspires creativity, and champions their team while also pushing strategy forward, driving performance, and continually elevating the impact of marketing across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker, storyteller, and collaborative leader who understands the intersection of hospitality, destination marketing, and brand experience. The Director will work closely with executive leadership, sales, revenue management, and operations to ensure marketing strategies support business goals while showcasing the magic of Sandestin to new and returning guests alike.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within hospitality, resort, travel, or luxury lifestyle brands.
  • Proven experience developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies that drive measurable revenue and brand growth.
  • Experience managing marketing teams and external agency partners.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in marketing platforms and tools including Google Analytics, CMS systems, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and data reporting systems.
  • Strong creative instincts paired with strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Passion for hospitality, storytelling, and brand development.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk throughout the resort property as needed.
  • Must be able to navigate resort grounds for meetings, photoshoots, events, and content development.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds (marketing materials, signage, equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to travel occasionally for marketing events, conferences, or training.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, and cold.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort that supports revenue growth, occupancy, brand positioning, and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead marketing strategy across all resort business units including accommodations, group sales, club memberships, rental management, dining, events, golf and recreation.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align marketing priorities with overall resort performance goals and seasonal demand patterns.
  • Identify new opportunities to strengthen brand awareness, guest engagement, and market share.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the internal marketing team, including professionals responsible for social media, graphic design, content development, and business unit campaign execution.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture that values creativity, accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Provide strategic guidance and clear direction while empowering the team to do their best work.
  • Oversee the strategy, development, and execution of integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns designed to drive occupancy, room nights, bookings, and guest engagement.
  • Guide creative development of marketing materials including advertising campaigns, print collateral, digital assets, photography, video, signage, and brand storytelling initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels and resort touchpoints.
  • Oversee digital marketing strategy including SEO, SEM, paid media, email marketing, website optimization, content strategy, and social media performance.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the resort’s website platforms, ensuring accuracy, performance optimization, user experience improvements, and conversion-focused design.
  • Collaborate with digital agency partners responsible for SEO strategy, paid media execution, and website hosting and maintenance.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with key external partners including: Public Relations Agency Strategic Marketing Agency focused on revenue-driving initiatives Digital Agency responsible for SEO, paid media, and website operations
  • Ensure agency partners align with Sandestin’s strategic goals and deliver measurable results.
  • Manage additional vendor relationships including photographers, videographers, designers, media buyers, printers, and influencers.
  • Protect and strengthen the Sandestin brand by ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and storytelling across all resort communications.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Sandestin’s target audiences, guest behaviors, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate Sandestin’s presence as a premier destination resort.
  • Monitor marketing performance and campaign effectiveness using analytics tools and reporting platforms.
  • Track and report on KPIs including website traffic, conversion rates, campaign ROI, occupancy drivers, and guest engagement metrics.
  • Use data insights to refine strategies and continuously improve marketing performance.
  • Work closely with Group Sales, Revenue Management, Operations, and Resort Leadership to support targeted promotions and demand-driving initiatives.
  • Align marketing efforts with operational priorities, seasonal programming, and guest experience initiatives.
  • Support resort events, activations, and partnerships that strengthen Sandestin’s presence in the marketplace.
  • Represent Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and community engagements as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the resort’s business objectives. Including creating and managing the department budget.
