About The Position

In this position as Director of Marketing & Events, you will lead integrated marketing strategy and signature event execution for one of the largest domestic violence shelters in Texas, elevating The Family Place's brand and driving fundraising success. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, you'll serve as the strategic architect of our marketing presence and the driving force behind our signature annual fundraiser, ReuNight, plus additional events throughout the year. You will develop comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that raise awareness, protect brand integrity, and engage audiences across digital and traditional channels. You'll oversee our website, email, social media, and content strategy while partnering with our PR firm to secure media opportunities. As event leader, you'll plan and execute flawless events from concept through completion, serving as the on-site leader who coordinates staff and volunteers to create experiences that inspire donor engagement and generate critical revenue. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least seven to ten years of work experience that includes budget preparation and staff management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensures consistent brand integrity across all internal and external materials
  • Develops fundraising presentations and collateral in collaboration with team members
  • Manages the agency website, email communications, social media, print collateral, and overall digital presence
  • Drives audience engagement across all touchpoints and analyzes data to measure communications effectiveness
  • Oversees events, including ReuNight, TFP’s annual signature fundraising event
  • Partners with the agency’s firm to secure media opportunities
  • Develop and lead comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with agency goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team, including external vendors.
  • Manage department budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Own and protect the agency’s brand identity, voice, and visual standards.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and audiences.
  • Lead brand campaigns and communication initiatives.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts, including website, email, social media, and paid media.
  • Use data and analytics to measure performance and optimize campaigns.
  • Guide content strategy across digital, print, and multimedia channels.
  • Lead internal and external communications strategies.
  • Oversee media relations, press releases, and all communications.
  • Develop thought leadership, speeches, and key talking points for leadership.
  • Lead the planning and execution of events, including logistics, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Serve as the main on-site leader during events, resolving issues quickly and professionally.
  • Coordinate and supervise event staff, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Develop and manage event timelines, run-of-show, and checklists.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure events align with organizational goals, branding, and budget requirements.
  • Oversee event setup, breakdown, and post-event wrap-up.
  • Monitor attendee experience and address concerns in real time.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
