About The Position

Blade HQ is an exceptional knife retailer. Our mission is simple: sell knives with consistent excellence. That means making it easy for customers to buy the right knife, being honest in how we represent products and pricing, and being dependable in every experience we offer. We're looking for a Director of Marketing and Ecommerce to own how Blade HQ shows up to customers. This role is responsible for the people, systems, and execution behind our marketing. They ensure our channels perform well, our messaging builds trust, and our customer experience is clear and dependable at scale. You'll set direction, turn strategy into action, and lead teams across content, creative, ecommerce experience, and growth, while working closely with merchandising and operations to ensure what customers see externally matches what we can deliver internally. This is a leadership role for someone who can think big picture and actually make things happen.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience leading marketing in an ecommerce business
  • Comfortable owning both strategy and execution
  • Proven ability to lead and develop managers
  • Strong understanding of digital customer journeys and ecommerce systems
  • Data-driven decision maker who values clarity over noise
  • Clear communicator and steady, dependable leader
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience leading an E-commerce marketing team at a director level is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enthusiast communities or specialty retail
  • Familiarity with complex catalogs or large SKU counts
  • Knife or outdoor industry experience
  • Masters Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set direction and priorities
  • Establish clear marketing priorities aligned to Blade HQ's mission
  • Translate strategy into a focused, executable marketing plan
  • Use data to choose what matters most and prioritize projects
  • Lead people and systems
  • Lead and coach managers across content, creative, ecommerce experience, and growth
  • Develop strong leaders by setting expectations, running effective one-on-ones, and improving processes over time
  • Build the structure and workflows that allow teams to execute consistently at scale
  • Own customer-facing clarity
  • Make it easy for customers to discover and choose the right knife
  • Ensure product storytelling is honest, transparent, and accurate
  • Align merchandising, content, and creative so customers understand why a product is right for them
  • Drive performance
  • Partner with managers to define KPIs and OKRs tied to growth, engagement, and trust
  • Track performance across channels and adjust strategy based on real results
  • Balance creativity with discipline
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Work closely with operations and merchandising to keep promises we can keep
  • Partner with leadership on prioritization, resourcing, and long-term improvement
  • Build strong relationships with brand partners to support thoughtful, customer-first campaigns
