About The Position

Naveris, a biotech startup based near Boston, MA, is looking for a Director of Market Access - VA and Government Accountsteam member to help us develop our next great product for patients at risk of developing viral cancers. Our flagship test, NavDx, is a breakthrough blood-based DNA test for HPV cancers, clinically proven and already trusted by hundreds of physicians and institutions across the U.S. Opportunity Naveris is seeking a Director of VA and Government Accounts to help lead reimbursement strategy and drive Payer coverage for first-in-class HPV-driven cancer testing. This role requires a strategic and analytical leader who can leverage clinical expertise and a data-driven approach to secure new Payer agreements. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a track record of establishing Payer coverage for innovative products in the government markets, including but not limited to the VA systems, excelling in cross-functional collaboration, and influencing Payer policy decisions. This position reports to the Vice President of Market Access and will play a pivotal role in scaling our reimbursement function as the company grows. This candidate will be focused on the eastern US and preference will be given to East Coast-based candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Sales, Market Access, Payer Relations, or Health Economics, with a successful track record of Sales and securing Payer coverage for new products within the VA and Government Entities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to influence external stakeholders and secure Payer policies.
  • Deep understanding of Payer/Account requirements as well as VA system and other Government accounts.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience engaging clinical, product, and sales teams.
  • Adaptable in both strategic and hands-on roles in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law that describes the national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge. All roles at Naveris require compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of HIPAA and acceptance and adherence to all policies and standards at Naveris. Personnel acknowledges they are personally responsible for reporting any suspected violations or abuse and are required to complete HIPAA training when joining the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Account strategy, goals, and plans for achieving VA System and Government Sectored coverage and sales of our HPV-driven cancer testing.
  • Collaborate with Product, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales and Clinical Operations teams to create compelling evidence, value propositions, and programs that drive account favorability.
  • Present evidence to accounts and negotiate agreements while representing account perspectives within the company to inform evidence generation and optimize relationships.
  • Partner with internal teams to align clinical development and product positioning with reimbursement goals.
  • Contribute to health economics and cost-effectiveness studies, ensuring alignment with Government account requirements and market access objectives.
  • Monitor policy changes and industry trends, contributing to the development of best practices for reimbursement strategy within the organization for VA and Government Account and payers.
  • VA, MTF and other Government payers/accounts will be a heavy focus for this position.
