We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Manufacturing Transformation located at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. Your Role: The Manufacturing Transformation Director is responsible for leading the strategic transformation of the company’s manufacturing operations to achieve world-class performance in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation. This role drives enterprise-wide initiatives that modernize processes, systems, and culture through digital enablement, lean methodologies, automation, and capability development. The Director partners with plant leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and operational excellence. Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the company’s multi-year Manufacturing Transformation Strategy, aligned with business objectives and growth plans. Drive alignment between corporate leadership, plant management, and functional teams to ensure cohesive transformation execution. Establish clear transformation priorities, milestones, and performance indicators. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Lead deployment of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles across all manufacturing sites. Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, waste, and variability to enhance throughput, quality, and asset utilization. Standardize key manufacturing systems, performance management routines, and operational practices across sites. Digital & Automation Transformation Oversee adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, data analytics, digital twins, predictive maintenance) to drive smarter and more connected operations. Partner with IT and Engineering to evaluate and implement automation and smart factory solutions that enhance productivity and safety. Change Management & Culture Development Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and empowerment within manufacturing teams. Lead structured change management efforts, including communication, training, and leadership engagement. Build transformation capability through structured coaching, education, and talent development programs. Performance Management & Governance Define KPIs to track transformation progress and ensure measurable business impact (e.g., OEE, conversion cost, downtime, quality yield). Lead regular performance reviews and transformation governance forums with executive and plant leadership. Ensure alignment of transformation initiatives with financial goals and return on investment (ROI) targets. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure transformation programs deliver end-to-end business value. Coordinate with site and regional leaders to deploy scalable best practices and standard tools across all facilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, with at least 5 years in transformation, operational excellence, or strategy roles.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-site transformation initiatives with measurable performance improvement.
  • Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, reliability, automation, and digital transformation principles.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen).
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools (MES, ERP, CMMS, OEE systems).
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive decisions and performance transparency.
  • Excellent financial and business acumen to link operational results to P&L impact.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution focus.
  • Influential communicator who can engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven change leader with ability to inspire and mobilize diverse teams.
