About The Position

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to advance managed care contracting for Independent Healthcare Associates (IHA). This high-impact role sits at the intersection of payer strategy, contract negotiation, and provider partnerships, offering the opportunity to lead contracting initiatives across a growing independent network, own key payer relationships, influence reimbursement outcomes, and drive innovation in value-based care. Working closely with executive leadership, this position provides strong visibility and the ability to shape long-term direction—ideal for a professional in payer contracting, provider relations, or managed care ready to step into a more strategic leadership role. This role offers a unique opportunity to step into a Director-level position with strategic influence and executive visibility. IMPACT AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development and execution of managed care contracting strategies Negotiate agreements with commercial and government payers Build and strengthen payer and employer partnerships Drive initiatives related to value-based and alternative payment models Monitor payer trends and identify opportunities for optimization Analyze reimbursement data and provide strategic insights to stakeholders Resolve complex claims and contract performance issues Support the growth of the provider network and clinical integration efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, or related) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare administration, insurance, or managed care
  • Experience in managed care contracting, provider relations, or payer strategy
  • Experience working within a health system, physician group, or health plan (e.g., Avera Health, Sanford Health, Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Medica)
  • Proven experience negotiating and managing payer contracts
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and reimbursement structures
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills
