About The Position

Come join our team and start making a difference! Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities. Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures. Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each level of maintenance personnel in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, OSHA, and other pertinent laws and regulations. Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc. Review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions, and make recommendations to the Executive Director. Interpret the department's policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Executive Director as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department. Submit accident/incident reports to the Business Office within twenty-four (24) hours after their occurrence. Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the Maintenance Department. Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, etc.). Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program. Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such to the Executive Director. Delegate a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when absent from the facility. Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job related maintenance functions to ensure that tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids properly identified and recorded. Inspect storage rooms, work rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend to the Executive Director adjustments in maintenance services that assure that continued ability to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc., to assure control of equipment and supplies. Ensure that outside services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of boiler systems, including routine operation, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining compressors to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Ability to operate, test, and perform basic maintenance on generators, ensuring proper function during outages or emergencies.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, with the ability to identify issues, complete repairs, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and executing installations as needed.
  • Skilled in painting, taping, and finishing, with the ability to complete surface preparation and apply high-quality finishes.
