About The Position

The Director of Licensing will be the point person for obtaining and renewing of all licenses for UWM, its affiliates and subsidiaries. This includes the submission of various annual reports and other state licensing-related filings. Further, the Director of Licensing will work on various projects within the Legal/Compliance team on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the mortgage process and be able to effectively communicate with UWM’s team members at every level of the company, including UWM’s leadership team. The Director of Licensing will use a variety of tools and resources to perform his or her functions including NMLS and communication with state licensing representatives. This individual contributor role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.

Requirements

  • Attorney, Paralegal, other Legal Professional, or a minimum of 3 years of licensing experience.
  • At least 1 year Mortgage and/or Financial Services industry experience is required.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and non-verbally.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Organized individual who is capable of managing various projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Making sure UWM and its subsidiaries/affiliates have the correct licenses.
  • Obtaining any new licenses for UWM or its subsidiaries/affiliates as required.
  • Renewing UWM’s and its subsidiaries/affiliates licenses.
  • Submitting annual reports.
  • Be the point person for various state licensing related filings.
  • Complete various legal and compliance related projects on an as needed basis.
  • Use experience to identify opportunities to improve processes.
  • Communicate with UWM’s team members, including its leadership team, and various state licensing representatives on company related matters
