Director of Learning Services
About The Position
The Director of Learning Services at Regis Jesuit provides strategic vision and leadership for the department and helps to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided to students in the program. The Director organizes, supervises and evaluates the Learning Services program and supports and encourage students with learning difference to live up to their academic, personal-social, and career development potential. The Director is responsible for the enrollment of new students and their families into the Learning Services program. This position works in partnership and as a Learning Specialist, to provide collaborative consultation to support faculty and counselors working with students who require accommodations and interventions to enhance learning. The Director supervises the Learning Specialists.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Special Education or certification in Special Education
- 5-10 years of experience working with students with diagnosed learning differences
- Evidence of strong communication, organizational skills and leadership skills
- Commitment to furthering the Catholic, Jesuit mission and identity of Regis Jesuit

Responsibilities
- Provide a singular and consistent voice to the RJ community about the Learning Services program and the students involved
- Provide consistency to support the Learning Services program regarding messaging, communication, academic supports and accommodations
- Provide parents with eligibility and documentation information regarding Learning Services program for both current and prospective students
- Review incoming student evaluation records to determine eligibility for Learning Services program
- Maintain Learning Services rosters and assign students to Learning Specialists, as needed
- Maintain student evaluation records and provide ongoing information to parents regarding eligibility status
- Advise Admissions team about the nature and needs of potential Learning Services students
- Act as a liaison to help organize HSPT and proficiency exams and review documentation needed in partnership with the Admissions team
- Coordinate accommodations for school and standardized testing
- Maintain communication with stakeholders regarding student needs
- Provide orientation to new teachers regarding Learning Services program
- Provide support and information to staff and administration regarding disabilities, classroom support practices, assistive technology, parent communication, and individual student needs
- Work with team leads of departments and counseling to provide information and consistency of care to Learning Services students
- Partner with AP of Academics and Testing Coordinator on final exam organization
- Partner with Testing Coordinator to establish timelines and logistics for standardized testing (PSAT/ SAT/ ACT/ AP)
- Partner with College Counseling to provide information and support in transition after high school
- Develop and monitor budget for Learning Services program
- Host parent and/or student informational meetings, involving speakers from outside the community when applicable
- Manage communication and licensing for technology supports such as Learning Ally
- Communicate with Learning Services providers at other private and Catholic schools when applicable
- Advise Boys Hope Girls Hope regarding the potential needs of their students
