About The Position

The McWane corporate office is seeking highly organized leader to help move the company forward. The Director of IT operations is a senior-level position that oversees the global helpdesk, application development, corporate office support, budget, service now, Change Management, mergers and acquisitions, and cloud governance. This postition will be based at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical IT degree, plus related experience (infrastructure, network engineering, network administration, programming, network architecture, etc.) is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience is required.
  • Minimum Experience Required: At least 10 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a large and complex organization.
  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Looking for a very organized leader to help move the company forward.
  • Computer expert.
  • Proficient with computer tools, online reporting software and computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations and company policies and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and encourage and motivate people to take ownership and pride in their work.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid, unbiased conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, mathematical, diagram or schedule form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, global environment supporting multiple industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and must think strategically.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, MCSE, CCNA, PMI, CCNP, MCITP, SOC, CISSP, or CSI are not required, but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reposible for managing the global helpdesk through expanded use of ServiceNow creating metrics and deliverables to constantly improve on customer experience.
  • Negotiating with vendors and contractors to procure and maintain IT equipment and services.
  • Leading and supervising IT staff and providing guidance and training on IT change management best practices.
  • Budget management of all aspects of the corporate IT department including forecasting, tracking and reporting.
  • Manage global application development projects, vendors, and remote employees. Track project queue, hours, and billable costs.
  • Monitoring and reporting on IT metrics, budgets, and projects.
  • Maintains a culture of continuous improvement by managing long and short-term projects using approved tools.
  • Manage ongoing and future mergers and acquisitions tasks. Perform due diligence tracking on acquisitions and respond to due diligence requests of divestitures.
  • Strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Works closely with others to promote cyber security initiatives.
  • Fosters positive work relationships.
  • Observes and enforces all company, human resources and safety policies, procedures, and rules.
  • This role will report to the VP, CIO - Must keep VP, CIO, and other key managers abreast of significant issues or developments as appropriate.
