About The Position

The Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for managing and directing IT Infrastructure, including providing leadership and technical advice to the department. Is responsible for developing and deploying effective strategies using hardware, network, telephony and infrastructure technologies. Assist with IT security, manages the team responsible for all devices requiring an IP address, and oversees the development and maintenance of new and existing hardware/software/programs. Is responsible for Active Directory, all domain structures, core IT systems (Fileservers/storage/mail) and architecture standards for PCs, printers, servers, storage. Insures problems are addressed in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides technical staff training where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
  • Minimum of four (4) years in IT leadership, implementation, support, and utilizing current information system technology required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and technical advice to lead the team.
  • Collaborates with the CIO, other MIS Directors, and organizational leadership to ensure alignment with organization strategic direction.
  • Develops effective strategies for the use and deployment of technology and software.
  • Test hardware devices and applications before introducing them to management.
  • Manages schedules and deployment contracts.
  • Builds relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Benchmarks and makes recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure.
  • Reviews the performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
  • Prepares infrastructure for IT security audits or investigations.
  • Manages security of network, systems, and enterprise information.
  • Maintains knowledge of responsibilities of System Administrator, Analyst, PC Tech and any other subordinates assigned.
  • Plans, directs, organizes and supervises assigned projects and subordinate personnel.
  • Trains and develops staff.
  • Operates within appropriate budget constraints.
  • Develops cost and time estimates for projects.
  • Provides technical assistance to other departments.
  • Oversees storage capacity planning.
  • Conducts research on products, services and standards in support of IT procurement and development efforts.
  • Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure IT products and services.
  • Follows internal contract management processes.
  • Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Practices IT asset management, including maintenance of inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Establishes service level agreements with end users.
  • Reports activity and status to management.
  • Interacts with and supports user groups with presentations and consideration of their requests.
  • Audits, evaluates and maintains the installation of operating systems.
  • Evaluates software requirements and analyzes available equipment capabilities.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform tasks that meet the age-specific requirements of the persons, patients, vendors, and staff that the employee is charged to interact with as required by the position.
  • Offers suggestions on ways to improve operations of department and reduce costs.
  • Attends all mandatory education programs.
  • Improves self-knowledge through voluntarily attending continuing education/certification classes.
  • Maintains required competency levels as identified in written exams, skills checklists, skills labs, annual safety and health requirements as well as service excellence education hours requirements.
  • Cross-trains in order to better assist co-workers and to provide maximum efficiency in the department.
  • Volunteers/participates on hospital committees, functions, and department projects.
  • Manages resources effectively.
  • Reports equipment in need of repair in order to extend life of equipment and removes malfunctioning equipment out of service with timely reporting to the appropriate personnel.
  • Makes good use of time so as to not create needless overtime.
