About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Inventory Planning to lead our Target Inventory Analyst team while directly supporting key client accounts. This role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and deep retail supply chain expertise to ensure best-in-class service delivery and measurable results for our clients. The Director will establish and standardize best practices across accounts, develop team capabilities, and serve as a senior advisor to both clients and retailer partners. In addition to leading the team, this individual will manage select high-priority businesses as an Inventory Analyst, providing advanced forecasting, replenishment strategy, and data-driven insights. This role is critical to maximizing in-stock performance, inventory efficiency, and sales growth while strengthening long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of retail, supply chain, replenishment, or demand planning experience supporting major retailers; Target experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of inventory management principles, forecasting, and retail operations
  • Experience supporting major retailers (Target experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex client relationships
  • Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI and Partners Online systems a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex data
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Inventory Analysts, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture
  • Define and implement standardized processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality service across all client accounts
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex inventory issues, retailer challenges, and client concerns
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, providing data-driven recommendations to improve in-stock performance, inventory efficiency, and sales growth
  • Directly manage select key accounts, delivering advanced forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory optimization
  • Monitor business performance against forecasts and plans, identifying risks and opportunities and driving corrective actions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, retailer partners, and internal cross-functional teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency, analytical rigor, and overall client impact
