About The Position

In partnership with the Chief Advancement and Public Strategies Officer (CAPSO), the Director of Institutional Giving (DIG) leads HAWC’s institutional fundraising overseeing government, foundation, and corporate grant funding. This role is responsible for the entire institutional giving lifecycle, including strategy, prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, award management, reporting, and renewal. The DIG plays a critical role in advancing HAWC’s mission by securing funding, strengthening relationships with institutional funder, and producing timely, accurate, and compelling proposals and reports. The DIG provides strategic leadership and direction for HAWC’s institutional giving ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and supports the agency’s continued growth and impact. This role requires strong strategic thinking, exceptional writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex funding requirements while collaborating across departments to support programmatic and financial success. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the DIG supervises the institutional giving team and fosters a high-performing, collaborative culture focused on results and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Masters preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive fundraising and institutional giving/grants (government, foundation, and/or corporate), leading institutional giving strategies.
  • A minimum of five years of experience leading a team of direct reports.
  • Intermediate Proficiency within Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experienced in Donor Management/CRM software, Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.
  • Computer savvy and able to learn new applications and systems quickly.
  • Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.
  • The ability to stand and walk around for extended periods is required.
  • Employees will also need to squat or bend, reach outward or upward to effectively discharge job duties.
  • Job incumbent must be able to lift/carry and/or push/pull up to 40 lbs., if applicable.
