About The Position

The Director of Institutional Effectiveness oversees the day-to-day operations of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and is responsible for supporting data-informed decision-making, internal assessment processes, and external reporting. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Information Technology, the Director leads short-term institutional effectiveness projects and provides operational leadership for the planning, research, and assessment functions of the College.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of assessment, accreditation standards, and institutional research in a higher education setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, SPSS, Argos).
  • Experience managing institutional data systems and producing compliance reports.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate data effectively to varied audiences.
  • Skill in developing surveys and using survey platforms.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff and foster collaboration across college departments.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and accrediting body reporting requirements.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in higher education required.
  • Three years of full-time professional employment experience in institutional effectiveness, assessment, or institutional research required, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner, IPEDS reporting, SACSCOC accreditation, and Argos reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and documentation of academic and non-academic assessment and evaluation processes.
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data for use in institutional planning, accreditation, program review, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and support staff in institutional research, reporting, and assessment functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of internal and external data requests, including federal, state, and accreditation-related reporting (e.g., IPEDS, ACCS, SACSCOC).
  • Guide the preparation of annual reports such as the Statistical Profile, Fall Facts, and Enrollment Summaries.
  • Maintain oversight of the College's survey administration and reporting processes.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and administrators in developing assessment tools and interpreting institutional data.
  • Oversee data verification and integrity procedures and ensure quality control across all IE reporting.
  • Develop effective data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Argos, SQL, Excel, and web-based platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to support access to institutional data and improve user-facing reporting systems.
  • Represent the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on college committees and working groups as assigned.
