The director is responsible for effectively managing the financial, service, and quality goals of critical care, emergency, medical/surgical/orthopedic, inpatient rehabilitation and maternal child health nursing services at El Camino Hospital Los Gatos. The director is the established RN leader resource at the LG campus. Establishes annual goals for areas or responsibility that support the strategic plan. Identifies business opportunities for providing new services or enhancing existing services. Coordinates with the nursing leaders to develop and manage the capital and operating budgets for areas of responsibility. Works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop an effective recruitment and retention plan to ensure the staffing requirements are managed effectively. Collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, and other members of the health care team across the enterprise to promote optimum patient care. Understands and supports the professional practice of nursing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required. Master's degree in Nursing or related field, preferred. If Masters in other field, BSN required.
  • Minimum five years of management experience.
  • Experience managing acute care inpatient units and areas of maternal child health.
  • Clinical practice background in inpatient nursing required.
  • Current valid California RN license.
  • Valid CA driver's license
