The Director of Information Technology for STS Metals reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The position will direct, plan, develop, and implement professional, effective, and efficient information systems and procedures across multiple business units. This will be done by managing external business IT support organizations and managing the long-term plan for STS Metals IT structure. Typical work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with flexibility required for business needs. Occasional extended hours or travel may be required. This is a full-time exempt position. Direct the maintenance of the company-wide Information Technology platform while ensuring compliance with company’s internal control procedures and policy. Ensure the high performance and availability of the Information Technology platform. Develop an Information Systems strategy in support of and that is directly aligned with the broader strategic plan. Manage Applications Development. Manage and communicate the IT department projects to the balance of the organization to ensure appropriate prioritization. Manage the performance and professional development of the IT organization. Build strong relationships with outside vendors for support, maintenance and resolution of problems and operational issues. Manage a budgetary process for the department which is aligned with the company’s strategic plan with responsibilities that include operational expenses, capital expenditures and IT department staffing. Extensive stakeholder collaboration with company management team and corporate management levels.

Requirements

  • At least 10-12 years technical, IT experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience managing an IT organization in a strong internal control compliance environment.
  • Ability to analyze and understand business requirements along with technical design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to senior management as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • ERP and related business systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent supervisory and staff management skills.
  • Ability to drive project governance with a clear understanding of project teams, steering committees and executive sponsors.
  • Manage project tasks, milestones and deliverables, including data conversion, interfaces, reporting standards and formats, process improvement mapping, testing, standardization, workforce readiness and training, organizational change management, implementation and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Strong time management and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Adaptable to new technologies and have the business acumen to evaluate and assess new applications and processes and contribute to the long-term improvement of business systems within the organization.
  • Select and procure Information Systems hardware and services, as well as vendor negotiation and relationship management.
  • In depth experience in the following systems and platforms: Wireless networks and VoIP telephony support Web services and applications development, deployment, and hosting.
  • Network (LAN, WAN) infrastructure design and administration.
  • Network infrastructure equipment maintenance and configuration.
  • VMWare, ESX hosts configuration and support.
  • Cloud services and co-location facilities.
  • Disaster recovery planning, documentation, and test execution.
  • US Citizenship or Perm Resident Status required.
