About The Position

Provides strategic direction, leadership, and functional oversight of enterprise IT security and information technology for the OmniRide.  Responsible for consistently and effectively integrating the IT security, vision, and mission into all aspects of the organization and offering efficient resolutions to technological opportunities. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing enterprise security posture and information technologies, including researching and recommending new products and leading efforts to improve IT processes.  Will work closely with senior management, external vendors, and advisors.   In collaboration with Senior Management, develop and implement a comprehensive information security program to protect the organization’s data and systems, drive risk mitigation, meet compliance requirements and oversee operational controls.  Establish and implement appropriate standards, governance and criteria for hardware, software, email and web firewall, access, and encryption requirements.  Maintain proficiency with security and information industry best practices, as well as within the global cybersecurity community to monitor and explore current sources and efforts.   Identify key program metrics to measure the effectiveness of the security program and measure the organization’s risk.   Perform regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats across the organization.  Develop and enforce enterprise-wide information security policies and procedures to safeguard data and systems.   Develop and lead an incident response plan, including incident detection, reporting and recovery strategies.  Plan, develop and manage the department budget and resources ensuring optimal allocation of resources.  Oversee the technical projects in alignment with organizational goals and directs the effective delivery of networks, development, and the preservation of assets by implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures and information security and control structures.  Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with various departments and contractors.  Verifies application results by conducting system and security audits of technologies implemented.  Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.  Effectively leads and supervises direct reports by setting expectations and goals, managing performance, delivering business results, and ensuring staff are supported and policies and procedures are adhered to.  Promotes and contributes to a positive customer service experience.  Maintains a healthy and safe working environment.  Embraces and promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace and culture.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related discipline and extensive experience in computer network administration or IT management, personnel and project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, current auto insurance and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work the flexible hours demanded by a transit operation environment.
  • Current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry.
  • Knowledge of business management, vendor management, and customer service principles best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Skilled in conflict management and resolving challenges positively and constructively, minimizing negative impact.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to present information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to be flexible and adaptable in responding to new information, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles in a fast-paced environment.
