Founded in 1974, Community Access continues to uphold and operate as a pioneer of supportive housing and social services in NYC for people with mental health concerns. We proudly lead advocacy efforts that rally our community to promote human rights, social justice, and economic opportunities for all. We are built upon the simple truth that people are experts in their own lives. Our programs are spread across 25 locations and include over 1200 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center, Peer-driven Crisis Respite Center, Adult Home Initiative, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and the Intensive Mobile Team (IMT). Program/Department Description The human resources department is responsible for supporting Community Access’ vision, mission and values by delivering excellent customer service in meeting the staffing, compensation, benefits and employee relations needs of the organization. The department works closely with all levels of staff to address and respond to their needs in a professional, trustworthy and timely manner. Overview The Director of Human Resources (DHR) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a full-service human resources department and utilizes key competencies such as HR expertise, relationship management, business acumen, communication, consultation and ethical practice to direct HR staff and deliver comprehensive Human Resources services. The HR department functional areas include and are not limited to: Compliance, Payroll, Employee Benefits, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations & Performance Management and Policy Administration. In addition, works closely with the Chief People Officer on development and implementation of Departmental strategic goals and related activity.
