About The Position

A Director of Human Resources, Communications, and Student Services for Itasca ISD would have a multifaceted role, encompassing a variety of critical functions. This position, which reports directly to the superintendent, requires a blend of skills in human resources management, communications, and student support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, public relations, or a related administrative role, preferably within a school district.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to human resources, education, and public information.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, and community members.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the use of technology for administrative and communication purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, public administration, educational leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Texas Administrator Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and staff evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including those related to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures to maintain a fair, consistent, and supportive work environment.
  • Oversee employee training and professional development programs to enhance skills and promote a high-performing workforce.
  • Manage all personnel records and information with the utmost confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Manage district payroll, including Timeclock Plus and serve as the liaison between Itasca ISD and the Region 12 Service Center.
  • Advise and support administrators on personnel matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Work directly with the superintendent to manage internal and external communications.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy to promote a positive public image and keep all stakeholders informed.
  • Work with the superintendent and technology staff to create district publications, social media content, website updates, and other communication materials.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all district platforms and departments.
  • Work with district leadership to oversee student support services, including counseling, health services, and special programs.
  • Collaborate with campus administrators to address student attendance, discipline, and well-being issues.
  • Serve as a liaison for parent and student concerns, working to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote student success, mental health, and social-emotional learning.
  • Ensure district compliance with all student-related laws and regulations, including those related to student discipline and special education.
