Applicants beyond fifty (50) miles may still be considered.Job SummaryAre you passionate about using critical thinking and analytical skill to drive growth?  Join our team and help build and scale the engine behind our Personal Lines Property growth.  As Director of Direct Growth, you’ll be the leader responsible for Farmers Property product sales through direct channels (call center and online).  You will set the vision and turn strategy into outcomes while coordinating cross-functional execution to move the numbers that matter.    You will lead a team working to drive the online sales strategy and lead nurturing and  remarketing programs while partnering cross functionally with the call center, media, technology, data, analytics and product organizations to influence and drive outcomes.  You will bring teams together aligning on clear strategy, priorities, and measurable results. The role reports to the Head of Direct Business.   The ideal candidate possesses strong business acumen, advanced analytical capabilities, demonstrates critical-thinking skills and strategic problem-solving.  They thrive in both collaborative & independent work environments, driving high impact projects focused on our continued path towards profitable growth for the direct channel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in marketing, business or insurance preferred.
  • 8 years of insurance industry experience
  • 5 years of management experience
  • Experience in developing strategies in marketing, product or online sales
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Knowledge of personal lines products
  • Proven written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and managing  sales growth in direct distribution (online and call center) audience.  Develops and executes strategic business plans,  initiatives and marketing  to generate  gross written premium, new business, and profit targets. Leads a team to build, manage and execute on growth initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional execution with marketing/media, product, data, technology, analytics utilizing ruthless prioritization to deliver initiatives that move conversion, retention, and engagement.
  • Authorizes business decisions on marketing investments and value of initiatives to achieve growth.  Recommends the amount and management of the ad budget, including prioritizing and coordinating end-to-end marketing campaigns for key company initiatives. Aligns with product  understand biggest areas of potential growth due to price, competitiveness, and profitability.
  • Drives experimentation through A/B and multivariate testing, personalization at scale, and performance-based optimization.
  • Optimize the entire digital journey—from discovery to purchase and beyond—so every touchpoint is frictionless, high-converting, and loyalty-building.
  • Manages the execution of sales, communication, and cross-sell, up sell initiatives across the business in close coordination with business units.
  • Team identifies, supports and drives sales campaigns and product launches.
  • Drives sales analytics research and embeds best practices.
  • Manages distribution research programs that are conducted to track competitive performance.
