About The Position

Oversee the growth and development of group sales team members. Responsible for day-to-day duties of prospecting accounts, account development, site inspections and proper Opera S&C account management practices, etc. for group sales team members Active in developing strategies to identify new business. Accountable for booking group business originating from the assigned market segment Quote rates and negotiate group rooms contracts within established parameters. Keep accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all potential business. Upon closing, coordinate and follow-up with Convention Services and Catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised services. Utilize Opera Sales & Catering to track, solicit, book and follow-up accounts. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required. Coordinate and financially manage sales trip and FAM trips within the given territory including reports or activity pertaining to the specific market as well as those for the group sales team. Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel at Convention and Visitors Bureau and Fairmont Global Sales Offices. Schedule effective business trips and appointments within assigned markets. Ensure that the teams pre and post trip reports are completed and analyzed for maximum ROI for group sales travel. Participate in prescribed training and special projects. Assist in the development and training of the Sales Team. Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long term goals. Coaching, counseling and mentoring of the group sales team including Professional Development Interviews, annual LEADS and as appropriate one on ones Forecast monthly for rolling 12 month period for group sales revenue Lead group tentative and prospect review to ensure appropriate engagement. Attend weekly Group Pick Up meeting and WAM meeting and represent the group sales team. Attend other hotel meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years hotel sales management experience required either in a Senior Seller role or other senior leadership group sales position.
  • Bachelor Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred.
  • Must be results oriented with ability to be flexible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
  • Computer literacy (Opera, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
  • Positive attitude and supportive team based approach toward the attainment of the hotel's short and long term goals.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days.
