About The Position

As Director of Global Alliance Management at Soleno, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the value of our most critical global strategic partnerships. You will serve as the “Chief Diplomat” and operational lead for collaborations ranging from co-development of clinical assets to global agreements, as well as ensuring that partnered projects and priorities are executed in accordance with Soleno’s corporate objectives. Your goal is to ensure contractual compliance, maintain healthy partner relationships, and mitigate risks across different cultures and regulatory landscapes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chem, etc.)
  • 5-8 years in Biotech/Pharma, with at least 3 years specifically in Alliance Management or Business Development.
  • Deep understanding of the Drug Development Lifecycle (from R&D through Phase III and Commercialization).
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex cross-company collaborations and strategic partnerships.
  • High “EQ” (Emotional Intelligence), cross-cultural communication expertise and advanced negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally (approximately 20-30%) to partner sites.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential partnership information.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and navigating complex global organizations

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for international partners. Forster a culture of transparency, trust, and accountability.
  • Governance Leadership: Establish and lead Joint Steering Committees (JSCs), Joint Project Teams (JPTs), and other governance bodies defined by the partnership agreement.
  • Contract Interpretation: Act as the internal expert of the “spirit and letter” of the contract, ensuring both parties meet milestones, payment obligations, and reporting requirements.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proactively identify “friction points” in the alliance. Negotiate solutions for disputes regarding resource allocation, IP rights, or clinical timelines.
  • Strategic Alignment: Continually assess whether the alliance is meeting the company’s long-term portfolio goals and suggest “pivots” or amendments to the agreement when necessary.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the health and financial success of the partnerships.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with internal teams across R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, and Finance to ensure alignment on partnership priorities and successful execution of shared objectives.
