About The Position

The Director of Foundation Services and Annual Giving provides strategic leadership in three key areas – fiscal administration, annual giving fundraising, and CRM – crafting donor-centered fundraising strategies and communications through analytical and creative thinking to strengthen donor engagement and advance the mission of North Hennepin Community College. Fiscal Administration – Manages day-to-day financial operations in partnership with the Accounting & Fees department. Responsibilities include donation and expense processing, fund tracking (endowment and restricted funds), budgeting, expense analysis, monthly reconciliation, and serving as the primary contact for the Foundation’s annual audit. Fundraising – Develops and implements a comprehensive annual giving plan to acquire, retain, and increase donor support. Crafts compelling, donor-centered written fundraising appeals and communications to inspire generosity from alumni, employees, and friends of the college. CRM – Oversees the Foundation’s customer relationship management platform (Raiser’s Edge NXT), ensuring accurate donor records and data integrity. Leads data analysis and reporting to support fundraising strategy, donor communications, and engagement efforts. This position plays a critical role in sustaining the Foundation’s ability to support students, programs, and campus priorities. North Hennepin Community College serves one of the most diverse student populations in Minnesota—many of whom are the first in their families to attend college, working adults, or balancing significant life responsibilities. We are a small but mighty Foundation team, working collaboratively to remove barriers to education and ensure students have the resources they need to succeed and thrive. Requirements

  • One year fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in annual fund giving campaigns.
  • Experience using and proficiency in a constituent relationship management software program
  • Experience with nonprofit budget and financial procedures including IRS regulations and procedures as they relate to charitable donations in a nonprofit environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills to write donor correspondence which include direct and e-mail appeals, thank you letters, stewardship reports, and informational materials
  • Competency with computer software products such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and data management tools.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • 3+ years fundraising and/or foundation services experience within higher education
  • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge experience
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Experience in compiling the CASE VSE report
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with higher education institutions and community partners.
  • Experience with endowment and scholarship management
