About The Position

The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Director of Foster Care and Independent Living oversees all aspects of the foster care and independent living programs within the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality services to children, adolescents, and young adults, promoting their safety, well-being, and successful transition from the child welfare system and/or to independent living.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Independent License of Social Work or Counselor in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in foster care, child welfare, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and program initiatives.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to foster care and independent living.
  • Budget management and financial oversight experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

  • Supervise foster care manager, ILS managers, and supervisors and staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the foster care and independent living programs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Ensure that all clients receive appropriate and effective services tailored to their individual needs.
  • Oversee individual case plans and/or treatment plan for children and youth in foster care and independent living programs.
  • Monitor the progress and outcomes of clients, ensuring they achieve their personal goals and milestones.
  • Seek and manage funding opportunities, including grants and donations, to support program initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including other social service agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and governmental entities.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Advocate for the needs of foster youth and young adults transitioning to independence.
