About The Position

Sanctuary Recovery Centers is seeking a passionate and creative Director of Food Services to lead our culinary team and elevate the dining experience across our inpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs. Creative Freedom: As the Director of Food Services, you will have the ability to design and update menus that prioritize healthy, balanced, and delicious meals while accommodating the unique dietary needs of our clients. Leadership Opportunity: You'll lead and mentor our staff and individuals under our care educating them to ensure high standards in food preparation, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will directly shape the daily operations of our kitchens.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in high-volume food preparation, with a proven track record in leadership or staff training roles.
  • ServSafe Certification: A current ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain one is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a culinary team.
  • Communication & Organizational Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to organize kitchen operations and streamline processes.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to adapt to the unique needs of an inpatient and outpatient facility, including menu changes and accommodating special dietary requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary Expertise: Completion of a culinary arts program is preferred, but not required. Proven experience in menu development and food presentation is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Menu Development & Innovation: In conjunction with our Dietician, create and update balanced, nutritious menus that align with client dietary needs and preferences. Use your creativity to ensure variety and satisfaction in every meal.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise staff and clients on food preparation, safety standards, sanitary practices, and presentation techniques. Ensure the staff and clients maintains the highest standards in food service.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including food inventory, equipment maintenance, and purchasing. Develop efficient processes to streamline operations without compromising quality.
  • Quality Control: Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation across all meals served. Maintain sanitary and safety standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Staff Training & Development: Hire, train, and develop a dedicated culinary team. Conduct regular training on menu preparation, food safety, and customer service best practices.
  • Inventory & Budget Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure optimal stock levels. Order ingredients and kitchen supplies as needed, keeping an eye on cost-effectiveness.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect kitchen tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning. Coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
