The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, driving financial planning, analysis, and forecasting to support North Wind’s growth and transformation. This role will lead the FP&A function, champion process improvements, and ensure financial strategies align with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/advanced degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of related discipline;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, forecasting, and modeling
  • Prior experience in PE-backed companies required
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Must have experience in government contracting (GovCon), including familiarity with FAR, CAS, and compliance requirements.
  • U.S. Persons per ITAR required
  • May be required to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Knowledge of various contract vehicles, procurement processes and sub-contracting procedures.
  • US citizenship required to obtain/maintain a DOD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven success in FP&A process improvements, automation, and analytics
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint, BI, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A to monitor performance, develop financial strategies, and support decision-making
  • Partner with executive and business unit leaders to drive strategic initiatives
  • Oversee financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting using advanced analytics tools
  • Develop and implement policies for accurate financial data collection and analysis
  • Manage risk, internal controls, and audit readiness for regulatory compliance
  • Mentor and develop the FP&A team, fostering continuous improvement
  • Drive change management and process improvements, especially in PE-backed environments
  • Communicate complex financial insights to stakeholders at all levels
