About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategic Finance to lead our Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function and drive financial strategy across the organization. This critical leadership role will have direct oversight of the corporate planning cycle, consolidate long range financial planning, and provide financial leadership for critical strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of prior relevant work experience
  • Experience with relevant technology
  • Experience with analytics and visualization tools

Responsibilities

  • Corporate FP&A Leadership Lead and provide strategic direction to the Corporate FP&A team, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of core financial planning activities.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and management of the company-wide forecasting and annual planning processes.
  • Direct the creation and presentation of consolidated managerial reports and financial packages for the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors, providing insightful variance analysis and performance commentary.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning models, reporting tools, and FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
  • Consolidated Long Range Planning and “What If” Scenario Analysis Own and manage the consolidated long range planning and modeling process, informing critical resource allocation decisions for the Company.
  • Conduct complex financial analyses, including profitability deep dives, scenario planning, and investment return evaluations to guide strategic and operational decisions.
  • Finance Leadership on Strategic Initiatives Serve as the primary Finance leader and partner for all major Mortenson strategic initiatives, providing financial expertise, rigorous analysis, and guidance from concept through execution.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of potential M&A activities, new business ventures, and significant organizational changes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Group Leaders to translate strategic objectives into clear, measurable financial targets.
  • Team Leadership and Development Mentor, coach, and develop the Corporate FP&A and Strategic Finance teams, fostering a culture of excellence, high performance, and continuous professional growth.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with other members of the Finance Leadership Team (FLT)
