About The Position

The Director manages all aspects of student financial aid, is responsible for federal and state program compliance and reporting; will supervise a team of professional and support staff; will manage the maintenance, upgrade and enhancement of the computerized financial aid module of the Student Information System; and is responsible for working with appropriate offices to facilitate effective strategies that support the College’s retention objectives. At least 5 years of experience in post-secondary financial aid at the managerial level; or related experience. Knowledge of and proficiency with computer-based financial aid systems and student information systems. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in business, finance, education or related field from an accredited college or university. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Necessary: Understanding of current federal rules and regulations; experience with computerized information systems. Supervisory experience. Useful: Experience administering financial aid at an institution with 7,000+ students; and preferred community college experience. Experience with implementation of new financial aid module and change control process and procedures. Abilities to work within a framework of enrollment management, admissions, and recruitment. Experience with development of training programs to ensure financial aid team members are current with the required federal, state, and institutional programs. Experience with Microsoft products; especially with Excel. Complete and ensure compliance with reports to system office, federal and state agencies.
