About The Position

Metro State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a MSUAASF Range E - Director of Financial Aid. This is a full-time position within the department of Financial Aid. The position is accountable for the administration of all federal, state, university and non-institutional student Financial Aid programs, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Development of processes and procedures that fulfill requirements and attain maximum utilization of available funds is required. The position ensures all Financial Aid reporting requirements are met. Monitoring and maintaining financial aid systems and making recommendations for system upgrades are within the scope of the position and integral to the uninterrupted delivery of Financial Aid funds. Salary Range: This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range E position with a salary range of $63,722.00 (minimum) to $128,942.00 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least five (6) years progressively responsible financial aid administration experience in a college/university setting
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse clientele including the commitment to equity and inclusion in the learning and work environment
  • Excellent speaking, writing and organizational skills and experience

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience which demonstrates extensive knowledge of federal. and state financial aid regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience which demonstrates ability to incorporate regulatory requirements and fiscal stewardship for federal, state, and other resources in the development of strategies, policies and procedures that enhance university objectives
  • Experience which demonstrates comprehensive technical understanding of complex financial aid administrative systems to ensure integrity, accuracy, and security of confidential data
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills required to manage and coordinate multiple priorities
  • Experience which demonstrates the ability to utilize research and communication skills to ensure the university is kept current on new and emerging financial aid regulations, trends, and best practices
