About The Position

The Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities of the organization, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, cash management, and compliance. This role will serve as a key strategic partner to leadership, helping drive profitability, optimize costs, and support data-driven decision-making across a multi-location, event-based business model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience in multi-location, retail, events, or asset-based businesses strongly preferred
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing company

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory-heavy or purchasing-focused businesses is a plus
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategy aligned with company growth goals
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial analysis
  • Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Build and maintain financial models to support event performance, revenue forecasting, and expansion planning
  • Analyze key business drivers including event profitability, cost per acquisition, and inventory purchasing trends
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to leadership
  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital needs
  • Oversee financial aspects of high-volume purchasing operations (estate buying events)
  • Implement controls around cash handling and asset security across events
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies
  • Build, lead, and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Establish scalable processes and systems to support company growth
