About The Position

The Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) Director of Finance is a strategic, decision-making and leadership role which leads our Finance department and Business Office, reports directly to our President, is a member of our Executive Leadership team, and interacts as needed with our Board of Managers. Responsibilities include overseeing our financial systems and controls; overseeing our business office; developing, analyzing and implementing strategies and tactics for financial growth and success; appropriately managing our financial risks; managing our cash position; developing and supporting budgeting, forecasting and tracking systems; leading special projects; and working with external and internal resources on taxes, audits, valuations and other special needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Significant experience and skills in financial leadership, communications, relationships, analytical and timely decision-making.
  • Experience with selection and implementation of financial technologies.
  • Experience or interest in entertainment, hospitality or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement financial strategies that align with the CDT's goals and objectives including pricing, expense management, cash management and investment strategies.
  • Present financial reports, develop budgets and periodic forecasts for the CDT executive team along with recommended action steps.
  • Identify and manage financial risks to ensure that CDT is compliant with all financial regulations, controls, insurance needs and standards of excellence.
  • Lead and manage the CDT finance team in the day-to-day accounting entries and processes used for both statutory and tax reporting.
  • Oversee and gain approval on the CDT budgeting process and ensuring all departments adhere to budgets or approved variances.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities for CDT cash reserves and make recommendations which appropriately balance our need for access with financial performance.
  • Participate and collaborate with our Executive Leadership Team and other leaders and departments as appropriate.
  • Oversee all business office functions such as license renewals (business, liquor and food license, etc), and advise Executive leadership on insurance renewals, contracts, 401k, etc.
  • Maintain financial oversight on payroll
  • Other duties as assigned.
