About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, strategic Director of Capital Markets to lead Trumark’s financial planning and forecasting, capital strategy, and corporate financing activities. This role is highly visible and integral to the company’s growth and financial strength. The Director will oversee the company’s financial health, drive capital planning, manage credit facilities, and partner with senior leadership on homebuilding capitalization, including land banking, joint ventures, and acquisitions. This role will also provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and excellence across all financial reporting and analysis functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in homebuilding or residential real estate development, preferably with a public builder or large private builder.
  • Strong understanding of homebuilding financial structures, including land banking, JVs, borrowing bases, credit facilities, and project-level capitalization.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical tools (Excel, FP&A systems, Power BI, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level reporting and presenting complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the company’s complete financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, liquidity, and long-range financial planning.
  • Responsible for comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis for the C-suite and Board.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to support growth, capital, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the full loan process, including sourcing, underwriting support, closing, and ongoing oversight.
  • Oversee the corporate credit facility, including borrowing base updates, covenant reporting, draw requests, and lender communication.
  • Partner with the VP of Finance and CFO on evaluating and structuring capital, including land banking, lot option structures, joint ventures, and other capital sources.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all financial covenants; implement additional reporting, controls, and processes to maintain compliance.
  • Lead analysis of short-term and long-term capital needs for a large-scale homebuilder with over $1B in revenue across four operating divisions.
  • Maintain reporting on existing land pipeline, and upcoming land transactions in new or expanding markets.
  • Provide strategic financial support for land acquisition, entitlement, development, and builder partnerships.
  • Help lead and mentor members of the finance team, offering guidance, training, and development to build a high-performing, scalable department.
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Land Acquisition, Operations, and Division leadership to drive alignment and disciplined financial decision making.
