About The Position

Reporting to the President, the Director, Field Operations is r esponsible for overall management of field operations for both Phoenix and Tucson. In this position, you will lead a team of superintendents and collaborate with other project management teams to ensure project objectives are met.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Superintendent experience working on commercial, institutional, or residential projects with a spend of at least $30 million+.
  • 5+ years leading and supervising field teams with exposure to participating in strategic planning an asset.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with strong focus on client relationship.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, drawings, specifications, procedures, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with Procore being an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong relationship and team-building skills with p roven integrity dealing with Clients, Trades and Consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the leadership team and aid in creating, communicating and executing the company strategic plan.
  • Coach, manage and support field staff in Tucson and Phoenix, including creating a talent bench for growth.
  • Drive field process improvement initiatives, including training, communicating and delegating to ensure buy-in and absorption.
  • Lead the workforce planning of field teams to ensure coverage and skill alignment to project needs.
  • Provide lessons learned and best practices for superintendents and build action plans to address site issues in collaboration with the superintendent.
  • Organize and lead quarterly superintendent meetings and following up on commitments post meeting.
  • Provide input in pre-construction of projects (site logistics, preliminary schedules) based on your availability.
  • Support field staff with trade contractors to ensure we model our values and maintain positive relationships.
  • Work with project superintendents for compliance and enforcement of safety policies.
  • Ensure best practices for safety and providing safety metrics to the field staff.
  • Cascade company goals, company updates and align team goals to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Actively participate in continuing education, including technology software, i.e. Procore, Viewpoint.
  • Represent the company at company-sponsored, industry and community events.
