About The Position

We're seeking a visionary and execution-driven Director of Field Automation to lead the integration of our advanced inspection technologies, including inspection and module washing robots, drones, AI-enabled cameras, soiling sensors, and other data measurement and collection devices-into scalable service offerings for solar facility owners and operators. This role bridges technical innovation with customer-facing impact, ensuring our pricing, reporting, and positioning clearly communicating the value we deliver. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success to define, refine, and evangelize solutions that drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. From field deployment strategy to data-driven reporting, you'll be instrumental in shaping how our automation tools translate into actionable insights and measurable ROI for our clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years in field operations, automation, or technical product strategy-preferably in solar, energy, or industrial services.
  • Proven success in translating complex technologies into customer-facing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, AI vision systems, drone operations, and environmental sensors.
  • Executive-level communication skills with ability to influence across departments.
  • Experience with pricing strategy, reporting frameworks, and customer engagement models.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of service packages and reporting frameworks powered by field automation tools.
  • Translate technical capabilities into customer-centric value propositions.
  • Partner with Sales to align pricing and positioning with customer needs and market trends.
  • Work with Product Marketing to craft messaging that highlights differentiation and impact.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success to ensure service delivery meets expectations and drives retention.
  • Define field automation deployment protocols and performance benchmarks.
  • Oversee integration of inspection data into customer-facing reports and dashboards.
  • Gather feedback from clients and field teams to inform product and service evolution.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies to maintain strategic advantage.
  • Manage relationships with third-party drone operators, sensor providers, and automation partners.
  • Support training and enablement for internal teams on automation tools and workflows.
