About The Position

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategic financial planning of the hospital. This role involves managing the financial department, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a re ated field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
  • Extensive experience in financial management, with significant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management and Reporting: o Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts. o Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to senior management and stakeholders. o Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights to improve financial performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: o Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparation, consolidation, and presentation of budgets. o Develop and manage financial forecasts to support long-term strategic planning and decision-making. o Review and approve departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with hospital objectives.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: o Develop and implement financial strategies to support the hospital’s mission and goals. o Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to the CFO, CEO, and other senior leaders. o Analyze financial trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend actions to optimize financial performance.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: o Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulations. o Oversee internal and external audits, and implement recommendations to address audit findings. o Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and financial policies.
  • Financial Operations: o Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. o Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies to ensure financial stability. o Oversee the management of financial systems and technology, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cost Management and Efficiency: o Monitor and control operating costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement. o Analyze expense trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives. o Collaborate with department heads to manage and optimize departmental expenditures.
  • Team Leadership: o Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including financial analysts and accountants. o Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. o Provide training and support to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Strategic Initiatives: o Participate in strategic planning and development activities. o Support the implementation of new financial initiatives and projects. o Evaluate and recommend financial technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
