About The Position

The Director of Faculty and Curriculum at NJPAC oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula across Arts Education programming, including Arts Training curriculum, Residencies, and workshops. This role collaborates with faculty, teaching artists, and external consultants to ensure curricular alignment with faculty strengths, NJPAC's core values, and leadership's strategic vision. The Director actively supports faculty in curriculum design, artistic excellence, and educational impact. The Director collaborates with Dir. Professional Learning on Teaching Artist Certificate and Professional Development curriculum.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, curriculum design, or arts administration strongly preferred; theater background a plus.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in arts education, curriculum development, and faculty leadership roles.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and evaluating arts education curricula.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with faculty to design and develop curricula that leverage their unique strengths and expertise.
  • Lead curriculum development and support for Arts Education Department (AED) programs, including oversight of Teacher Resource Guides (TRGs) in collaboration with consultants.
  • Support the creation of curricula for the Teaching Artist Certificate program, professional development initiatives, residencies, and specialized workshops.
  • Ensure curricular alignment with NJPAC's values of artistic excellence, equity, community engagement, and student-centered learning.
  • Support and guide faculty in writing, revising, and implementing curriculum materials, ensuring clarity, effectiveness, and measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate regular curriculum review processes to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement or innovation.
  • In collaboration with Dir. of Professional Learning, facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance curriculum delivery and instructional methods.
  • Act as a liaison between faculty and senior leadership, ensuring curriculum initiatives align with organizational vision and strategic goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to faculty, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in teaching and curriculum design.
  • Manage documentation and reporting related to curriculum standards, assessments, and instructional practices.
