About The Position

Black Butte Ranch is a destination resort in Central Oregon, surrounded by Cascade mountain views, Ponderosa pines, and a strong sense of community. Set across 1,800 acres, the Ranch features championship golf courses, lodging, restaurants, pools, spa, trails, a private lake, and year-round recreation. SUMMARY The Director of Facilities & Maintenance oversees the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all Black Butte Ranch buildings, grounds, and infrastructure. This position leads a team to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained, supporting guest satisfaction and long-term asset preservation. The Director manages capital projects, ensures compliance with building, safety, and environmental standards, and promotes a culture of accountability and excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of facilities management experience, ideally in hospitality or resort operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance operations, and capital planning.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, budgeting, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of maintenance and facilities teams.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and capital improvement projects.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and forecast long-term needs.
  • Ensure all systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural) are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee construction, remodeling, and repair projects to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor and contractor service contracts.
  • Train, manage and mentor staff to develop technical skills and ensure quality performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
